Course Conditions - BE AWARE!!

CROCODILE SPOTTED!

A small but golf ball hungry crocodile has been spotted in the new creek on the 4th hole!!

New turf will be laid on the path area around the 4th green in the coming weeks which will then complete the project.

Well done to Aaron and his team for their hard work over the last few months especially with constant inclement weather.

Titleist Fitting Day 

Looking at getting fitted ??

A great way to start is to come along to a fitting day to try various models of Titleist to understand what suits your swing.

Club Championships - Rescheduled Dates

We have decided to reschedule the final 3 Rounds of the Club Championships to July and return the Competition to a 4 Round Stroke tournament as per normal. 

Scores from the first Round held on May 7th will stand and the Final 3 rounds will be rescheduled to the following dates:

7th May - Round 1  (scores will stand)

Rescheduled dates are now as follows: 

2nd July - Round 2 

9th July- Round 3  

16th July- Round 4 - Seeded groups 

The time sheets will open at the same time as a normal Saturday sheet. 

Other Rescheduled Fixture Dates

Due to the change of dates for Club Championships, we have also had to reschedule the following fixture dates:

1st Round Matchplay Champs - Saturday 6th August

Semi-Final Matchplay Champs - Saturday 13th August

 Final Matchplay Champs - Saturday 27th August

Mens: 4BBB Stroke (Qualifying Round for 4BBB Matchplay Champs) - Saturday 3rd September


Groundsman/Greenkeeper Positions Available

The Woodford Golf Club is looking at expanding our Grounds staff team to assist in the day to day preparation and maintenance of the golf course. The following positions are available.

Permanent Full-time Greenkeeper/Groundsman
Permanent Part-time Groundsman
Casual Groundsman
An apprentice Greenkeeper will also be considered for the right applicant.

The successful applicants will need to possess the following:
- Experience and competence in Turf Machinery operation & maintenance is preferred.
- Current drivers licence.
- Strong work ethic & ability to work in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn.
- Sound knowledge of mechanical repairs would be advantageous.
- Qualification and/or experience in golf course maintenance advantageous but not essential.

Mens Foursomes Championships

Date: Saturday 25th of June 

Holes: 27 holes 
Tee Times: from 7am - 10am 
Cost $16

How to play?

Golfer A tees off, Golfer B hits the second shot, Golfer A plays the third shot, Golfer B hits the fourth shot, and so on until the ball is holed. The two golfers on a side also alternate hitting tee shots so that the same player doesn't hit every drive (if Golfer A hits the drive on the first hole, then Golfer B plays the drive on Hole 2).

Foursomes Cups are Ready!!

The cups are polished and ready for the Mens Foursomes Championship to be held tomorrow. 

There are a few spots left for anyone who wants to take on the challenge!!  

Give the Golf Shop guys a call on 5496 1004 to grab one of the last spots.

Ladies Club Championship Dates  

1st round - Saturday 10th of September
2nd round -  Wednesday 14th of September 
3rd round - Saturday 17th of September 
4th round -  Wednesday 21 of September

Volunteers Needed!!

In our recent survey we had over 80 members advise they would volunteer their services to the golf club.

Most days you will find our team of volunteers hard at work assisting the Grounds Staff to prepare the course for our members and guests.   The volunteer team is a great hardworking bunch of guys and girls but there is always plenty of jobs to be done to help improve the course.  

We would love it if we could get some new faces to join the volunteer Team.  There is no experience needed and it can be as simple as picking up branches & doing some weeding or as advanced as raking bunkers and mowing fairways.

Looking for a New Putter??

At Woodford we have SLASHED our prices on selected putters. 

Cleveland Frontline putter was $249 NOW $150. 

Come in to the Shop and see what we have in stock!! 

You can try any putter on the putting green and compare it to your own putters to gauge the performance.

Mid Week Competition 

With limited competition players on a Monday, Wednesday & Friday playing in the 18 hole competitions we will be combining these days to create a Mid Week Competition that will only run on MONDAY, WEDNESDAY (Open Single Stableford) & FRIDAY. This will be a combination of all three competitions. 

As we have been having only 4 in competitions on a Monday or a Friday and the person only winning $20, the field will be combined with all three days and therefore make the prize pool larger.

We hope this entices more members to participate in the competitions during the week.
